Ghanaian rapper, EL, born Elom Adablah says his height seems to be very intimidating to most people he meets.
The ‘Koko' hit singer, apart from his music prowess, is also endowed with an impressive height and while that gift could be a blessing to him, others are really intimidated by it.
Speaking in an interview on the Super Morning Show on Joy FM with Kojo Yankson Friday, EL said he often met people who feel threatened by it.
The rapper, who is also a producer said, said his height, although intimidating to others, interestingly has a fair share of disadvantage to him.
“The thing about being tall is that you can’t hide,” and that he is always spotted easily whenever he steps out, he added.

The governing NDC has defended the Electoral Commission's (EC) decision to set up a Steering Committee insisting the law grants the Commission an independent status.
The party's National Organiser, Kofi Adam, says it is satisfied with the explanation given by the EC. The Commission has said the 18-member committee comprises of representatives of institutions whose services will be needed before and on election day Nov, 7.
The Committee includes representatives from the Ghana Education Service (GES), National Service Scheme (NSS), the Police Service as well as the National Peace Council.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) and other opposition parties have called for what they said is a bias Committee, scrapped.
NPP's Deputy General Secretary, Nana Obiri Boahen, has condemned the Committee describing its creation as “baseless, needless and useless”.
The Party has pointed out three members of the Committee who are NDC members leading to the withdrawal of one member of the committee, Dr. Karl Mark Arhin.
Arhin is a former NDC Deputy International Relations Director.
Nana Obiri Boahen alleged that the Committee is nothing more than an “appendage of the NDC campaign team.”
The continuous existence of the Steering Committee exposes the EC to public ridicule, he chastised the Commission.
However, Kofi Adams, has expressed disappointment that the NPP would malign the Electoral Commission and accuse the Commission of working for the governing NDC, an allegation he described as “useless”.
Kofi Adams believes a more responsible way to raise questions about the decision of the EC would be at the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), where Parties meet to discuss electoral concerns.
The NDC, Kofi Adams said, have no qualms with the decision of the EC.
“If the Electoral Commission decides that this is the way it will go about its work, it is not for me to say whether they are right or wrong” he said.
The EC, he said, needs the services of the Police, Military and volunteers from the GES and NSS for the upcoming polls.
Forming a committee to put these bodies to word in concert with the EC cannot be difficult to accept, Kofi Adams suggested.
Adams further discounted an argument put forth by the NPP that the EC has functioned in past elections without a Steering Committee.
The EC, Adams argued, also functioned without IPAC nonetheless the Committee was formed to compliment the efforts of the EC.
He stressed the NDC did not submit the name of any party member to the Steering Committee.

A 36-year old woman from Michigan has made a crashing entrance into the
Guinness Book of World Records Wednesday at the Harper University
Hospital, by giving birth to her 14th child, all born from different
fathers.
According to the internationally recognized authority
on the cataloguing and verification of world records,
Anita Sullivan has just become the first woman in recorded history to
conceive children with more than thirteen different men.
She said:
“I’m extremely proud to have broken a World Record,” Ms. Sullivan told reporters. “My mother always told me that I was lazy and worthless, and that I would never accomplish anything in my life. Now, I’ve shown everyone that she was wrong, and that I can even be the best in the world when I put my mind to something. In fact, I’ve just accomplished something that no one had done before!”Anita Sullivan says she’s been unlucky with relationships in the past, but she believes that this time she may have found the man of her life.
“I’m good at having babies, but I’m really awful when it comes to picking the fathers of my children,” says the young woman. “This time, however, I think I’ve learned from my past mistakes. Ramón isn’t like all the jerks I’ve dated before. We’ve been together for almost a year and a half, and I really believe it could work between us.”After their meeting with Ms. Sullivan, the representatives of Guinness opened a second investigation concerning the record for the number of child support pensions received by one person.
The Detroit native is already the beneficiary of pensions paid by 11 different men, and is implicated in two other custody cases, which should proceed before the family court over the next two months.
The investigation should be over by the month of March 2016, and Guinness will then be able to tell if Ms. Sullivan holds a second World Record or not.

The self-confessed killer of JB Danquah-Adu,
Abuakwa North MP, Daniel Asiedu aka Sexy Don Don, who claims to be a
native of Larteh in the Eastern Region, allegedly told the police in a
thump-printed statement that those who recruited him told him that a
politician was paying him and others to eliminate the MP.
The suspect, who was remanded by a magistrate court on Tuesday, according to his initial statement to the police, claimed that he was contracted to carry out the dirty operation at a fee of GH¢2,000, only to change his statement later that it was a lone operation with the aim of robbing the MP – which led to JB Danquah-Adu’s death at his Shiashie, East Legon residence in Accra.
The suspect, after the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) took over the case, was reported to have changed the original statement he gave the police, saying that he went to the MP’s house with the sole purpose of stealing from him.
He said a scuffle ensued as he entered JB Danquah-Adu’s room, making him stab the MP three times.
Daniel Asiedu claimed that he entered the home armed with a knife, a catapult and a cutter.
According to him, his intention was not to kill the MP, but he stabbed him in the chest, his ribs and inflicted a fatal wound on his neck when the scuffle ensued.
The accused has been remanded in police custody until March, 1, 2016.
A source in the intelligence community, who expressed surprise at the sudden U-turn of the suspect, said Daniel told the police that he was at Zongo Junction at Madina on February 8, 2016 where he deals in second-hand mobile phones when he was approached by two of his friends – a certain Avenger and Junior Agogo.
The two friends, he said, told him that they had a job for him to execute at a fee of GH¢2,000 but even though he was not told the nature of the assignment, he claimed he knew it was about stealing.
Sexy Don Don told the police that he was a student, 20-year-old, and lives in an unmarked house in Accra.
On the following day, Tuesday, February 9, 2016, he said his friends came to pick him in a taxi at Zongo Junction for the operation at Shiashie.
Upon reaching Shiashie he said they alighted at a house with flowers planted in front of it. One of the friends then called the security man and told him that they had come, he alleged.
On their way to Shiashie, he recalled overhearing one of the friends talking to someone on the mobile phone but he could not tell whom he was speaking to.
Security Man
When the security man was alerted about their arrival, he allegedly proceeded to open the gate and when they entered, Asiedu added that he went to the back of the house and brought along a ladder which he placed against the wall.
One of the friends, he said, climbed first followed by another and after waiting for some time, he followed them to the top via the ladder and gained access into the bedroom of the late MP through the window.
Now in the bedroom, he said the leader of the gang secured the MP’s mobile phones as he (MP) was asleep on his bed and handed them over to him (Daniel Asiedu).
Continuing, he said that he went downstairs using the staircase after receiving the mobile phones.
While downstairs, he said he saw the security man place a chair close to the polytank; he said he stood on the chair and climbed the polytank and jumped over the wall – a procedure he said his colleagues used to flee the scene.
One of his friends, he said, gave him a catapult which he was holding for a while as his accomplice held a knife.
Daniel said he dropped the catapult in the house afterwards, explaining that he did not use it at all. Also left in the house were his slippers, adding that it was the knife which his friend used in stabbing the late MP.
Knock Off
This segment of his first narration appears to have knocked off the general notion that it was he (Daniel) who stabbed JB Danquah to death.
He is suggesting that it was his friend – the one who gave him the catapult – who stabbed the late MP because as he held on to it, his accomplice had in his possession the knife which he used to stab the late MP.
Shoes
Daniel said that the amount of GHC2, 000 was paid to him before they set off for the operation, which he described as a ‘stealing mission.’
According to him, he had never met the man they went to rob, asserting that he used the money paid him to buy some clothing and shoes, having spent the balance on other things.
Alteration
At this stage of his narration, he made an alteration when he said they did not use the staircase to descend but rather through another room from where they jumped down.
He said they took their turns to stand on the chair provided by the security man to reach the top of the polytank, from where they scaled a wall and jumped into another house.
He said that of the three mobile phones belonging to the late MP and which were given to him by the accomplice who did the stabbing, he returned the Samsung but sold two which he claimed had been retrieved.
He told the police that he knows the houses of both accomplices who, according to him, live at Madina, Accra.
Origin Of Money
Daniel said when he asked his accomplices about the source of the money they gave him, he was told that it was a certain politician who provided it, adding that he thought the mission was about stealing.
Pregnant Wife
Daniel’s four months pregnant wife, however, had another story to tell as her narration indicated she told the police that when her husband returned at dawn he had bloodstains on his dress. She is helping with the investigations into the case. According to information, her husband was released from jail after conviction for a misdemeanour.
The Greater Accra Regional police have declined to authenticate this narration.
Confusing
However, a criminologist, Prof Ken Attafuah, has described as disturbing, inconsistencies surrounding the death of Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu.
According to him, the suspect, when apprehended days after committing the crime, alleged that he was contracted to kill the MP for an amount of GH¢2,000 but changed his story when he appeared in court.
“Issues surrounding the death of JB Danquah are very confusing. The suspect upon arrest said he was contracted and now he is saying that he actually went there to steal and not to kill. I find it hard to believe all that and so it is important for the police to do their work well and not allow any interference,” he stated.
Prof Attafuah, who reserved comment on the possibility of the suspect speaking under duress, urged the police to be thorough in their investigations and allow the truth to prevail.
In the view of Prof Attafuah, the narrative surrounding the killing points to a well-planned and executed crime.

The Chair of the Electoral Commission, Mrs Charlotte Osei, has proven she’s the “sweetheart” of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), thus, doing all she can to please her “paymasters”, pressure group Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) has said.
In a statement issued Thursday February 18 to demand the resignation of the deputy boss of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr Samuel Asare Akuamoah, from the recently constituted 10-member steering committee that is meant to help the EC conduct the November polls, AFAG reiterated allegations by another pressure group, Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA), that the committee is packed with NDC members and sympathisers, who are bent on satisfying the NDC.
One of the members, Dr Karl Marx Arhin, recently resigned following protests from the LMVCA regarding his affiliation to the NDC. AFAG said the addition of Dr Arhin and other alleged NDC members and sympathisers, such as the deputy NCCE boss, betrays the EC Chair’s willingness to dance to the tune of the NDC.
Below is AFAG’s full statement:
DEPUTY NCCE BOSS ON EC’s COMMITTEE MUST RESIGN
With the inclusion of Dr. K.M Arhin and other members of the EC’s steering committee, who are either members or very sympathetic to the NDC, it is 100% suggestive that the Electoral Commissioner (EC) is NDC’s “sweetheart”.
Fellow countrymen, it is so obvious that the EC cannot carry the courage of her own convictions. The EC looks helpless. Not a single decision has been taken by the EC to suggest she is a unifier and understand the expectations of stakeholders with respect to her office and what to do.
AFAG is shocked to note that, the EC has turned down countless proposals for the inter-party advisory committee (IPAC) to meet. Though the decisions of IPAC may not be binding, it is clear that their role has been rendered redundant by the EC.
AFAG regards the attitude of the EC as one “positively made evil”. It appears she did not earn her appointment on merit. As a result, she is so desperate to satisfy her pay masters in what looks like “the deal must be executed”.
Fellow Ghanaians, an understanding of verbal cues points to the fact that the EC, simply put, appears arrogant and full of herself. She has become defensive to any other stakeholder apart from the NDC. This looks involuntary because she has “the deal to protect”. Be it as it may, we doubt if the EC means well for Ghana.
Fellow Ghanaians, the EC has made nonsense of what is incremental policy. The IPAC was not consulted before the EC “NDC’s sweetheart”, decided to pack the bogus steering committee with largely NDC members and sympathizers. If this committee was a genuine one, why couldn’t she inform and discuss with members of IPAC.
Indeed, the EC “NDC’s sweetheart” could have expanded the membership of IPAC with this so-called persons and given a different name to it with an expanded mandate. Perhaps, a mandate that can see to their unique advisory role for a successful election 2016.
We advise the EC to re-think her ways since she has become too predictable with her actions. A little reminder from the U.S institute of peace research work on post electoral violence in Africa, shows that electoral violence are due to systemic and unresolved grievances which culminate prior, during and after elections.
Resolution:
AFAG is challenging the deputy NCCE boss Samuel Asare Akuamoah to come out to deny being an NDC member, and having been present and spoken as a member of the NDC at an NDC function. We are set to expose him completely before his pending USA trip. Indeed we expect him to stay for the show down and speak for himself.
It is our position that the EC must consult IPAC to come to a reasonable position on this matter of enormous public interest.
Regardless, the EC must dissolve the highly unacceptable and bogus steering committee now!!!
God save Ghana
AFAG Leadership

The Minority in Parliament has accused the Speaker, Mr Edward Doe Adjaho of blocking their moves to ascertain why the President accepted the two former detainees from Guantanamo Bay into the country.
Although the Minister of Foreign Affairs is scheduled to address the House on the issue on Friday in a closed-door session, the Minority has given the impression that moves initiated by them were being held back by the Speaker of Parliament.
Addressing a press conference in Parliament House Tuesday, the Minority Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, Mr Isaac Osei said all the urgent questions members had filed demanding answers from the relevant sector ministers had not been admitted by Mr Adjaho.
"At least five members have filed urgent questions but the Speaker is yet to admit them and so the business committee cannot list them,” he said.
“I personally filed an urgent question asking the Minister of Foreign Affairs to detail the circumstances leading to the agreement for Ghana to accept the two detainees.”
“One of my colleagues also filed an urgent question seeking an explanation of the nature of the agreement and the rights and obligations of the two state parties. Yet another wished to know what travel documents they came in on — Yemeni, Ghanaian or American? What visa entry or resident permit did they enter Ghana with? Simple questions requiring simple answers and we are unable to ask them on the floor of the House because the Speaker of Parliament has not allowed them," he said.
Mr Osei, who is also a Deputy Ranking Member on the Parliamentary Select Committee on Foreign Affairs, noted that in a democracy, even a head of state or a minister must not be permitted or aided to erect barriers against legitimate examination and interrogation of his or her decisions or policies.
His or her mistakes and misadventures, he added, must not be shielded from public scrutiny.
He said the decision taken by the President was of a security nature, had international ramifications and would transcend the tenure of the President and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
"And the President has decided the matter without broad consultations? In many democratic countries, consultations with Parliament, political parties, and civil society would certainly have preceded such a big decision. In Ghana, the President takes a decision and we are supposed to button up our lips because it is a fait accompli?" he asked.
Breach of constitution
According to the Minority, the conduct of President Mahama in bringing the two former Guantanamo Bay detainees into the country without parliamentary approval constitutes a breach of the 1992 Constitution which he has sworn to uphold.
It has, therefore, urged him to "come clean" on the issue and tell Ghanaians the truth.
Mr Osei said the entire process was shrouded in secrecy, adding that, that was unacceptable in a democracy, except where Ghana's interest would be jeopardised in a more transparent and open process.
According to him, the statement made by the President to the effect that the former detainees did not pose any danger to national security was unconvincing.
In his view, if they did not, there would not have been a "secret year-long talk" on their transfer.
He said Article 84 (a) of the 1992 Constitution mandated the National Security Council (NSC) to safeguard the internal and external security of Ghana, while Article 83 (1) made the Foreign Affairs and the Interior ministers members of the NSC, yet clearly national security meetings were not convened on the matter.
The Subin MP said while Article 58 (1) of the Constitution vested the President with executive authority, that could only be exercised in accordance with the Constitution.
"It is the people of Ghana who have elected President Mahama to exercise the powers of the people on their behalf and in their best interest. When power is exercised capriciously without due process, it is usurpation of the rights of the people,” he said.
Reports on detainees
Mr Osei said a December 28, 2007 report by the US Department of Defence said Mammoud Omar bin Atef was a one-time fighter for Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda group.
He said bin Atef, who had threatened to cut the throat of Americans, admitted being a member of the Taleban and having received training at the Al Faruq training camp.
With regard to Khalid Salih Muhammed Al-Dhuby, Mr Osei said he was classified as being of medium security risk even though he had manned military positions in Tora Bora.
That information, he said, was widely available on Wikipedia, in the New York Times and the US Department of Defence.
He said it appeared from the briefing by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms Hanna Tetteh, that information did not form part of the documents the US government gave to the Ghana government.
"The Foreign Minister indicated that she was seeking clarification on the matter but we wonder if this information would have led the President to a different decision. Can this also not expose the poverty of the investigation, if any, conducted by President Mahama on those two detainees?" he asked.

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is demanding the immediate prosecution of all persons indicted in the Smarttys bus branding scandal.
NPP’s Director of Communication, Nana Akomea at a news conference held on Tuesday, said attempts by government to shield persons indicted in the Attorney General’s report is a clear indication that the Mahama administration is not serious to fight corruption.
He argued that the scandal “provides another clear case of bad governance, waste of taxpayers’ monies, corruption, non-transparency and weak government response to corruption that has become typical in these seven years of NDC governance.”
“The Attorney General has determined and the government has made a public announcement that the law was not followed; the law was broken so that automatically must lead to prosecution as provided for by the law. What is happening is that Smarttys’ and whoever collaborated with them have been asked to just do a refund of the GHc1.9 million extra payment. Where in our laws is this new business of refund of tax payers’ monies that have been stolen. I don’t know which part of law provides for this punishment that when you go and do a deal and you are found out you should just refund.”
Government’s decision to spend GHc3.6 million of Ghana’s oil revenue on branding some 116 Metro Mass Transit (MMT) buses has been widely criticized and described as reckless.
The scandal compelled the Transport Minister, Dzifa Attivor to resign after a massive public outcry.
The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, subsequently ordered the Attorney General to investigate the matter after which Smarttys was ordered to refund the excess payments made.
Meanwhile a leaked Attorney General’s investigation report suggests that the contract with Smarttys was commenced and concluded long before the procurement process started, a conduct that violated the nation’s procurement laws.
“The re-branding by Smarttys was commenced and concluded even before the procurement process began. This fact has been confirmed by both Smarttys and the Ministry of Transport. They attribute this lapse to the urgency attached to re-branding and spraying of the buses,” the report noted.
“An analysis of the documents clearly shows that several public officers were involved in the procurement and payment process. We therefore recommend that all officers who handled any aspect of these processes flouted the laid down legislation should be investigated by the Economic and Organised Crime Office [EOCO].”

The jewelry collection of Philippines' former first lady, Imelda Marcos, valued at about £14.5million is to be sold by the Philippines government. The jewels were seized in 1986 when dictator Ferdinand Marcos and his family fled to Hawaii following a popular revolt that ended his 2 decades in power.

Now, 30 years later, the government has approved the auction of the collection, which includes a 25-carat rare pink Indian diamond which was probably cut in the 18th century worth at least £3.5million, officials said.
It is alleged that the dictators family amassed billions of dollars in ill-gotten wealth, his wife, Imelda, who is now a member of congress, was famed for her excesses of which her huge shoe collection was a symbol. The government had formerly tried to auction the jewelry collection in 2005 but that move was contested by Imelda who claimed ownership of two of the three sets, she has vowed to recover what she sees as her family's assets.

Philippino boxer Mannie Pacquiao, who has won world titles in eight different weight divisions, has risked the wrath of the gay community worldwide after he implied gay couples were worse than animals as they (gays) couldn't differentiate the opposite sex from the same sex.
Manny, who is currently running for a senate seat in the country's May elections said this when asked about his views on gay marriages which is against the law in the Philippines.

Pacquiao gave the television interview as part of his campaign for one of 12 seats in the nationally-elected senate.
"It's common sense. Do you see animals that go male to male or female to female? So the animals are even better," Pacquiao told local broadcaster TV5 in an interview aired this week. "Because they know how to distinguish from male to male or female to female. Right? Now if we allow male to male or female to female, then that makes us worse than animals."It is not the first time, Pacquiao a devout christian has blasted gay relationships and marriages saying his new found faith in Christianity has turned him from a free spending gambler to a devout family man with principles.
Filipino comedian Vice Ganda and singer Aiza Seguerra, who are openly gay, have criticised Mr Pacquiao for his comments, calling him a "hypocrite" and a "false prophet". On Tuesday, Mr Pacquiao, posted a picture of himself with his wife on Instagram in an apparent response to the controversy. He said:
"I rather obey the Lord's command than obeying the desires of the flesh. I'm not condemning anyone, but I'm just telling the truth of what the Bible says."

Legendary Beninese-born singer, Angelique Kidjo, rocked her African print to the 2016 Grammy awards which held in Los Angeles yesterday night. Angelique won her third Grammy and dedicated it to aspiring artists on the continent. She won the Grammy for Best World Music Album for "Sings," a collection of her songs infused with Western classical traditions in a collaboration with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg.

This is the second straight year that Kidjo has won the Best World Music Album prize, after last year's "Eve" that paid tribute to African women.
A visibly excited Kidjo, ran to the stage to accept the award and danced to James Brown's "I Feel Good," performed by a pit orchestra. "I want to dedicate this Grammy to all the traditional musicians in Africa, in my country, to all the young generation. Africa is on the rise, Africa is positive, Africa is joyful. Let's get together and be one with music, and say no to hate and violence," she said
